A Sweet Newborn Girl’s Gallery in St. Johns County: Blue, Green, Purple & Pink

There’s something extra special about photographing a newborn when I’ve already had the honor of photographing her big sister. Getting to see those little family similarities—and all the ways each baby can be completely different—is one of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer in St. Johns County. This sweet baby girl’s newborn gallery was just delivered to her family, and I couldn’t wait to share a little peek behind the session!

Big sister had her newborn photos taken by me as well, so it was so much fun to compare the two girls. While big sister had her own unique look and personality, this little one looked much more like Daddy—which he absolutely loved! And when it came to sleeping, she was in a league of her own. She slept like a log throughout her session, making it possible for us to get incredibly creative with her setups. Because she was such a good sleeper, we took full advantage and played with lots of colors, props and set designs. We incorporated beautiful shades of blue, green, purple and pink, creating a gallery that felt colorful, playful and completely unique to her.

As a newborn photographer, I love when parents are open to stepping outside the traditional pink-and-neutral palette. While moms often gravitate toward softer pinks, creams and neutrals for baby girls, blue and green can be absolutely gorgeous for a little girl. I was especially excited to get creative with some of the more traditionally masculine colors and show just how beautiful they can look in a newborn gallery.

Of course, we also made time for those timeless family portraits. These images are some of the most meaningful photographs from a newborn session because they capture the whole family together during such a fleeting season.

And then we had a very special request for Daddy. Just like we did for big sister, we photographed baby girl in her adorable newborn doctor outfit as a special keepsake for Dad. Since Daddy is a doctor, this little detail made the session even more personal. Hopefully, one of these sweet portraits will eventually make its way onto Daddy’s desk at work—a tiny reminder of the newest little love in his life.

Being invited back into a family’s story for another newborn session is such an honor. Watching families grow from one baby to the next, remembering their first newborn session, and creating new photographs that complement those memories is exactly why I love what I do.
