The best time to do newborn photos is within the first two weeks of life. For mommas who book me with advanced notice, once I know the baby has been born, I schedule your sessions within 3-7 days. To make sure you get a slot, I advice moms to try and book within their 2nd trimester. For those last minute bookings, I can take babies up to one month old, just understand that the session make take longer.
The simple answer is NO! Depending on the package you choose, I will bring my studio props to you, including different color swaddles, wraps, bonnets, headbands, bowls, etc. That's the great part of choosing me for your session!
When I arrive, I will look around at the most optimal place to setup. I won't need a ton of space, but usually the living areas or dining areas are the best for me. I do have studio lighting as well, so don't worry too much about window/natural light. Just know, second floor rooms are off limits for me since I have to hull everything upstairs for setup and clean up.
If you plan on doing family portraits, I do not travel with backdrops, so I will be using your nursery, bedroom or even a blank wall. When thinking of what to wear, I usually recommend light colors (whites, creams, pinks, blues, etc.). I would avoid anything with flashy colors, stripes/patterns and or writing. I usually wrap the baby in a cream, white or colored swaddle to match.
We will discuss color schemes and what you envision for your session beforehand. Looking at my website/facebook/instagram in advance for colors and/or poses can be helpful that you may want to recreate.
A lightly edited gallery will be provided of all the images worth editing within 1-4 weeks of your session. This is the gallery in which you will choose which images will be part of your package. Additional images can also be purchased for an additional cost (refer to contract). Once you select the final images, I will hand touch/edit each image, which does take an additional week.
I am located in Jacksonville and will travel up to 40 miles from 32259 (subject to travel fee exceeding 25 miles).
