St. Johns, FL One-Year Cake Smash | Star Wars-Themed Cake Smash for Baby Luke
There’s nothing quite like celebrating a baby’s first birthday with a fun and completely personalized cake smash session! When Luke’s mom reached out to me about creating a custom one-year cake smash in St. Johns, FL, she told me that their family was a big fan of Star Wars. Of course, I was excited to see what I could come up with! After thinking through the theme, I wanted to create something that felt like more than just a few Star Wars decorations. I envisioned a fun little galaxy scene for Luke’s big first birthday celebration. We added a starry galaxy background, Star Wars-themed cutouts, balloons, and even fluffy cotton “clouds” to bring the whole setup together.
The custom cutouts featured some of the most recognizable Star Wars characters, including Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Maul, and R2-D2. Each little detail helped make this one-year cake smash feel extra special and completely unique to Luke and his family.
Mom even brought along a little black cap inspired by the movie, which made for some adorable photos! Toward the end of the session, we changed Luke into a cute blue romper for a few more portraits before letting him really get down to business with his cake. And boy, did he ever!
Luke Crushed His First Birthday Cake!
One of the best parts of a cake smash session is seeing each baby’s reaction to the cake. Some babies aren't quite sure what to do with it, and others barely touch it. Luke, however, knew exactly what to do!
Little man absolutely crushed his cake! He loved eating it, which was such a pleasant surprise because most babies don't usually dive into their cake quite like he did. Watching him enjoy every bite made for some seriously fun and memorable photographs.
I absolutely loved creating this custom Star Wars cake smash theme for Luke’s first birthday. From the galaxy backdrop and character cutouts to the balloons, clouds, outfits, and, of course, the cake-covered birthday boy, every detail came together to create a session that was uniquely his.
I hope I did right by Mom and Dad with their custom Star Wars vision! It was so much fun bringing their idea to life and capturing this special milestone.
